OPEN CHAIR POSITIONS FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR

The PTO is seeking volunteers to coordinate the following areas for Oak Point for the 2018-19 school year:  Carnival Co-Chair, Book Fair Chair, Spirit Wear, and Oak Point Fun Run Co-Chair. YEAR END CELEBRATION WILL BE MAY 31

Mark your calendar! You and your family are invited to join the PTO for food and fun on Thursday, May 31 between 5:00-7:00PM at the Oak Point playground for the annual Year End Celebration. There will be a DJ with music and games, a dunk tank, and four food trucks offering food and beverages for purchase (cash and credit cards accepted at all trucks).  The Taste of Target Field food truck will be serving hot dogs, bratwurst, french fries, cheese curds and desserts. The Totboss food truck will be serving a variety of tater tot dishes, mini corn dogs, and chicken tenders. The Habanero TacoS food truck will be serving tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and alambres. The Kona Shaved Ice Trucks will be serving Hawaiian shaved ice and ice cream treats.  In the event of rain, the event will be cancelled. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

2018-19 SCHOOL SUPPLY BOXES ORDERING INFORMATION

School supply boxes for the 2018-19 school year are available for sale now through July 6.  Visit www.schooltoolbox.com to place your order.  Click Find Boxes Now, search for Oak Point Elementary, and select your student’s grade for the 2018-19 school year.

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK IS MAY 7-11

Oak Point Staff Appreciation Week is May 7-11, 2018 and coincides with National Teacher Appreciation Week.  The Oak Point PTO encourages students and families to thank these everyday superheros - their teachers, staff, and administrators - during Staff Appreciation Week.  The PTO website has templates for students to write a thank you note to or draw a picture for their teachers and/or favorite staff members.  There is also have “fill in the blank” letter for students in younger grades to use to thank their teachers and favorite staff.  Interested in a giving a gift? The PTO also has a Favorite Things list to help you out.

 

OAK POINT WEEK AT NOTHING BUNDT CAKES IS MAY 7-12

Oak Point Week at Nothing Bundt Cakes is May 7-12, during regular business hours (9:00AM-6:00PM).  Buy any bundt product in store and place your receipt in the Oak Point box at the register. Or, place an order online and add "Oak Point" to the comments section of the order form. At the end of the week, Nothing Bundt Cakes will donate 20% of the value of the collected receipts and online orders to Oak Point.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO SET UP MAY 3 ART SHOW

The PTO is seeking volunteers to help set up art for Oak Point Art Show & PBIS Family Night.  Volunteers are needed during the day on both May 2 and May 3. Sign up to volunteer for a shift online.

 

GENERAL PTO MEETING ON MAY 10, 9:30AM

The last general PTO Meeting of the school year will be Thursday, May 10 at 9:30AM in the PAL.  Come hear a school update from the principal and a financial update for the 2017-18 school year.  Learn about the 2018-19 PTO budget and calendar of events, as well as elect the 2018-19 PTO board officers.

Books written by David LaRochelle, who visited Oak Point on March 1 as part of the Reading Olympics, are once again available for purchase through Monday, March 5. If you would like to purchase a book, please complete the order form and return back to school on Monday, March 5 with payment.  Books can be personalized; please be sure to fill out your student’s name at the bottom of the order form

Book Fair Volunteers Needed

Join us February 19-22 for the Paws for Books Book Fair this Spring: Come, Stay, Read a Good Tale!  Lots of volunteers are needed to help make this a successful event for Oak Point and Eagle Heights, and we still have many open volunteer shifts left.

 

Volunteers receive a “Buy 4 Books, Get the 5th Book Free” coupon.  To volunteer to decorate, set up, tear down, and/or staff the Book Fair, sign up online for a shift that works with your schedule.   Evening shifts available for this event.  High school students are welcome.

 

Spring Conference Meals Food and Donations Needed

During conferences on February 19, 20, and 22, the PTO will provide conference meals and snacks for our fantastic Oak Point staff.  The PTO needs your help next week on February 19, 20, and 22 by providing food, a monetary donation, or your time. Sign up online to make your donation.
