Boosterthon returns to Oak Point in 2016! Boosterthon will kick off on September 27, 2016 and will culminate in the Oak Point Fun Run on October 6, 2016.
Boosterthon is a 10-day program that starts with a Pep Rally and ends with the big Fun Run event. This year, we’re raising funds to continue our in-house field trip/guest speaker program as well as help provide school improvements including murals for the cafeteria and leveled readers.
Boosterthon is a major fundraiser for Oak Point. Participation in the fundraising portion of Boosterthon is voluntary. All students will participate in the Oak Point Fun Run and will receive a free t-shirt as part of the program.
This year’s character theme is Backyard Box Office. It’s a movie theme all about making a difference by getting into character. From inventors, to world-class speakers, to business owners, to world-record holders, students will learn step-by-step how to make a difference in their community from five real-life kids dedicated to making people’s lives better.
Also this year, each class has the opportunity to work together and give meals to someone in need right here in the Twin Cities. Every time a class raises $30 per lap, Boosterthon will donate three meals to a local person in need through their A Million Students Strong program.
At the Oak Point Fun Run on October 6, students will complete 30-35 laps around the Fun Run track while helping raise funds for our school. The Fun Run will take place on the fields behind the school. Should we encounter inclement weather the day of the run, it will be moved indoors and we will notify families via social media. Times for the Fun Run are: 9:20AM -Kindergarten & Grade 1, 10:25AM - Grades 2 & 3, 1:00PM - Grade 5, and 2:10PM - Grades 4 & 6.
Please consider supporting us in our fundraising efforts by asking friends and family to pledge your child. Thank you for supporting Oak Point!
