CARNIVAL IS FEBRUARY 2

The sixth annual Oak Point Carnival is Friday, February 2 from 5:30PM-8:30PM.  This fun-filled, family-friendly evening serves to raise funds, which are used to support many activities and programs for Oak Point students each year.  Please note that Carnival is not a drop-off event; parents need to attend Carnival with their children.

CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED

It takes over 250 volunteers to ensure that Carnival runs smoothly and for all of the attractions to remain open all evening.  Your help makes this night a success - please volunteer your time during the Carnival.  Make it fun and sign up with a friend, your spouse, or an older child.  High school volunteers are welcome, too.  We especially need volunteers in Gym Games, the Spirit Salon, and Food.  Sign up to volunteer online.

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Join us February 19-22 for the Paws for Books Book Fair this Spring: Come, Stay, Read a Good Tale!  Lots of volunteers are needed to help make this a successful event for Oak Point and Eagle Heights.  Volunteers receive receive a “Buy 4 books, Get the 5th Book Free” coupon.  To volunteer to decorate, set up, tear down, and/or staff the Book Fair, sign up online for a shift that works with your schedule.   Evening shifts available for this event.

SPRING CONFERENCE MEALS

During conferences on February 19, 20, and 22, the PTO will provide a meal and snacks for all Oak Point staff during the long evening and no-school conference days.  A sign-up will be available soon with details on the meals that will be offered, the types of donations needed, and volunteer slots to help serve food during conference times.

OAK POINT READING OLYMPICS

The Olympics are right around the corner in more ways than one.  While the Winter Olympic Games are happening in PyeongChang, Oak Point students will also be competing in the first ever Reading Olympics.  The entire month of February, Oak Point’s reading athletes will be in training, preparing for Reading Olympics Week at school from February 26 to March 1.  Visit the PTO website for more information.

DAVID LAROCHELLE BOOK ORDER FORMS DUE FEBRUARY 2

As part of Reading Olympics Week, children’s author David La Rochelle will visit Oak Point on March 1.  Books written by LaRochelle can be ordered in advance of his Oak Point visit by returning the order form in the Reading Olympics information packet by February 2.
