Open Board and Chair Positions

 

Open Board Positions for 2017-18


 

PTO Vice President | Typical Time Commitment = 2-4 hours per week

Being Vice President is a good way to get ready to take on the Presidency the following year.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and coordinating our restaurant nights (4 to 6 annually)

  • Setting up and coordinating our in-school assemblies/in-house field trips (4 annually)

  • Attending the PTO Board Meetings each month (September – May)

  • Attending the General PTO Meetings (3 per year)

  • Supporting the Presidents as needed at President’s PTO Council Meetings

  • Attending all additional PTO functions (Kindergarten Open House, Back to School Night, etc)

  • Additional responsibilities often include holding a leadership position in one of our fundraising events.

 

Communications Co-Chair | Typical Time Commitment = 2-4 hours per week

This position is imperative to making sure that our messaging is communicated timely and effectively. This person is responsible to create any and all communication including:

  • Maintaining our website, Facebook account, and Twitter account

  • Creating blackboard communications

  • Creating flyers for restaurant nights, meetings, and other PTO events

  • Taking pictures to support these communications

  • Attending the PTO Board Meetings each month (September – May)

  • Attending the General PTO Meetings (3 per year)

  • Attending all additional PTO functions (Kindergarten Open House, Back to School Night, etc)

  • Additional responsibilities often include holding a leadership position in one of our fundraising events.

 

Community Fundraising Chair | Typical Time Commitment = 2-4 hours per week. Time commitment may increase leading up to fundraising events.

This newly formed board position is imperative to ensuring the success of our fundraising events for the year.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Primary Contact for Boosterthon (November 2017)

  • Chair of the Silent Auction and Raffle for Carnival

  • Primary point of contact for Fun2Raise (student directories and calendars)

  • Maintaining other sponsorship relationships (Ovation! Orthodontics, etc)

  • Attending the PTO Board Meetings each month (September – May)

  • Attending the General PTO Meetings (3 per year)

  • Attending all additional PTO functions (Kindergarten Open House, Back to School Night, etc)

 

Secretary | Typical Time Commitment = 2–4 hours per month

If you like taking minutes and writing communications, we want you! The secretary takes and distributes minutes at all our PTO meetings. Duties include:

  • Taking and distributing meeting minutes

  • Attending both informal and formal meetings

  • Going through incoming mail if Co-Presidents need/want help

  • Helping out at events and activities

  • Actively seeking out new volunteers
