Open Board and Chair Positions for 2018-19


We need you! The Oak Point PTO is a volunteer organization made up of parents who partner closely with Oak Point staff and community members to support our school and its students.  Our volunteers organize a variety of events throughout the school year that help enrich the lives of our entire student body and we rely on fundraising efforts to help fund essential resources that our school may not otherwise have available.  Our goal is to give our students opportunities to experience people, places, and things that they otherwise wouldn't get the chance to participate in if our school relied solely on its district budget.


We are always looking for parents and family members to help at times that work with your schedule. We currently have some crucial open board and committee positions that we would like to fill as soon as we possibly can in order to maintain our level of commitment to Oak Point and to continue to positively impact the student body.

Board Positions



Communications Co-Coordinator and Team

Do you enjoy social media and like to be in the know about what is happening at Oak Point?  The PTO Board is looking for a Communications team that will be responsible for regularly updating the PTO website, maintaining the PTO Facebook and Twitter accounts, and drafting constant contact email communications as needed. This role is ready to be shared with 2 other team members. One member of the team will need to attend the monthly PTO Board meetings, and that role can rotate throughout the year.

Average time commitment per week is 2-4 hours per week, and a majority of the work can be done outside of school.


Chair Positions


Carnival Co-Chairs

The current Carnival co-chairs are looking for 1-2 new people to collaborate with them this year to oversee the Carnival planning process with the intent to take on larger responsibilities in the years to come. Many tools and processes have been put in place the last few years to make this job manageable.  The main duty of the co-chairs is to oversee the Carnival Committee to ensure each area is organized, serve as the main point of contact for school administrators, and staff, and be available during the Carnival for any questions or issues that may arise.
